BMW has put together what it calls its 'dream team' for the 2009 World Superbike Championship, after officially revealing that it has signed double title-winner Troy Corser to compete for the squad next season.
You can't blame him for making the move....2 year contract and possible move to four wheels with BMW at the end of it. Good luck to him and Xaus. It looks like Spies as his replacement. Next season is gonna be sooo interesting.....can someone arrange for it to start in November!

That will be a good team!! Corser will develop the bike's handling and engine whilst Xaus will test how well it bounces!! . No should be good and it will be good to see if Xaus can string a season togetheir after his best one in 03 that was just shy of the title to his team mate Hodgson.
Also little error in the story Crash "Corser is the only rider to win the WSBK crown with both twin (1996 and four cylinder (2005) machinery" er... last time I checked JT won it on a twin in 04 and a four in 07..hmmmm double check the story before commiting it!! But well done to them as this was the first place i read that corser was going to BMW so they must have some good contacts!!
Good for Corser.... I just hope they have plenty of spares ready for Xaus's's's ist test...
Re: Yamaha Motor Italia... GUINTOLI!!!! he's tested for them and done well....
Regarding the possibility of Guintoli taking part in further tests before the choice of the team's other rider to flank the already-signed Tom Sykes, Meregalli added: "No, we think we have all the elements in place to decide on the second rider, whose name will be communicated quite soon".

Apologies 190mph - your post got deleted by accident. Apologies also for the Toseland error - this has now been corrected.
Has somthing happened to Neil Hodgson that i have missed. He dosnt appear on any radar and surely he still has somthing to offer. Would he not be a good team mate to Tom Sykes ?

Dream team! bloody nightmare! I very much like old Xausy but he will spend his time on the deck and Corser will be mid too at the back, and moaning.

Yamaha Motor Italia can't be going for two rookies surely? Daft idea given they will be developing a new, last thing they want is someone learning the tracks on top of that. Hodgson would be an option because at least he knows most of the tracks, anyone got any idea who else might be in the frame? Maybe Nori is staying afterall lol
Well now with Corser gone and bringing Sykes in maybe Yamaha will offer bigger bucks to Nori to convince him to stay. Going from 2 experienced riders to 2 rookies would be crazy.

I still don't see Nori on the Duc.Guinters was still a hole second off Nori's pace, and even stranger without a single adjustment ??? I mean Yamaha must do eveything they can to retain the guy.

Could Yamaha replace him with Broc Parkes? It would explain why the WSS team let him go!

Good Luck to Corser at 36 he has to consider the future, and if there is a shout of running a touring car later for BMW good on him. Yamaha will do him no favours, in the past they dumped favoured son Nori-Chan when it suited them to As long as the yamaha coffers are emptied into the bottomless pit of Valentino's pocket they will struggle to meet the wage demands of the top older "Stars" who quite rightly are looking for a few final big pay days before they retire. No doubt BMW have the budget to crack WSB and buy the right man for the job and in Corser they have got him.

I bet BMW offered big bucks for Corser to go on their side, it'll be exciting to watch next season, since their is a lot more close racing, I also want to know who'll else will be Max Biaggi team-mate next season?

What a team this will be.... Corser has to be the greatest development rider thats riding today, and Xaus has proven he too can do it. Xaus isn't crashing nearly as much as he did and he'll ride a bike with no setup as hard as anyone possibly can. I think this bike will be on the pace in ultra quick time. Good luck to all involved.

Both guys just happen to be tall and lanky too... coincidence? Corser sets it up and Xaus knocks it down . Nah just kidding, but I can't think of Xaus now without thinking of that video where he starts roughing up another rider after a crash. In my personal book of great universal truths he's about level with Biaggi on the good guy scale.
Ive heard that Sete Gibernau was meant to get the BMW so he may be teaming up with Biaggi or possibly getting a ride with the Yamaha team as he cannot get a ride in Moto GP

I wouldn't have said Corser is tall, he's only about an inch taller than me when I met him last year in Assen and I'm 5ft 8!
I agree Rubens is tall. That helps when the marshalls have to find him buried in the kitty litter!
P.S. I really love Xaus' win-it or bin-it style though, top bloke!
