PSG-1 stick with Kawasaki, sign Badovini.

That is a pity for Badovini IMO. Was hoping that PSG-1 were going to switch to Ducati's but obviously Laconi and DFX have gotten it instead.

Ayrton was on the season's stars IMO and having to ride the clearly poor ZX-10R next year is not good for his career.

Just hope that he can put Tamada and Brookes to shame on the "official" Kawasaki bikes. Tamada was crap this season and it should have been Badovini who was promoted to the factory team. Laconi didn't deserve a Ducati either, so Ayrton has come of worst out of all this. A pity.

What is PSG-1 doing? If the factory bikes are garbage than how bad will the support bikes be? this is not good news at all................

A non factory honda would be a better bet you would think? must be more reasons behind the scene for choosing the green bullet.

tho i wonder why they stick with kawasaki, perhaps they know things can be improved on the bike if done by them. perhaps with the works bike they cant make big changes without asking the boss at japan, maybe?

psg are a good team, they worked miracles with Chili on the Ducati 998.5

I'd guess they've just been allowed to keep the bikes they have for free. Rather than spend loads of money on a new package and then even more developing it, they can pump money into development of these bikes instead.

Perhaps they always knew what they wanted to do with the bikes, but couldn't do because of Kawasaki interference..? Either that or there weren't any customer bikes available given DFX seem to have got the Ducati and there are plenty of Hondas on the grid already.

Its not a bad bike.. it's beating Honda and Yamaha in AMA, so obviously with the right development it can be on the pace. Interesting to see if PSG-1 can beat the factory tema next year. Wirh Tamada still there its an odds on bet!

Kawasaki didn't develop that bike last season PSG1 did, they had Kawasaki Europe support which isn't much, it's just money.

PBM Kawasaki for 2009 will be more an official factory effort, with the bikes being created in japan then given to them to race/develop with kawasaki's assistance.


like Damo said, it's not that bad a bike as the AMA bike is a factory bike and doing well not that AMA is to be compared against WSBK.

Badovini is good though, PSG1 isn't the best team to be with no matter what bike they have, only reason they had past success is Franki Chili!

PSG did alright when there weren't many Japanese factory teams around, but they've struggled ever since. Seems like comaprisons can't really be made between their 2008 results and Bird's 2009, which is probably fortunate for them.
