Un-forecast rain has halted the World Supersport first qualifying as the unpredictable British Weather looks set to disrupt proceedings at the fifth round of World Superbikes at Silverstone.

After only the first WSBK practice session rain began to threaten with dark clouds and spits of rain, then as the WSS session neared half-way the heavens opened unleashing a torrential downpour which saw all contenders take to the pits for shelter.

It is looking likely the rain will continue in shower form over the next two days with Sunday expected to be very wet.
