The Renegade Honda team have had a tough season so far - with a change of manufacturer and a new rider in Ben Bostrom - and the situation hasn't been helped by a lack of testing time.

Also on track was Ron's son Leon, riding his BSB race winning Airwaves Ducati. "I saw Leon, he passed me into the hairpin rather quick on the brakes!" said Ron. "As I say, the pace is a lot quicker than I had expected - at this point it looked really good out there."

Ron had no reason to be embarrassed at being passed though - Leon was the fastest man on track at Silverstone, lapping the Northamptonshire circuit in 1min 26.6secs.

Bostrom currently sits 18th in the 2005 Corona Extra World Superbike championship, with a best finish of sixth.
