Renegade Koji Honda rider Ben Bostrom has had some of the worst luck this season in the Corona Extra Superbike Championship and Saturday at Brands Hatch saw him miss Superpole due to an intermittent electrical fault.

When Crash.net spoke to Bostom on the day the team still hadn't found the fault. "I can't tell you what happened because I don't know yet," explained Bostrom. "They are searching right now. It was so strange as the bike died and I pressed the button and it started, then it died again and wouldn't start at all. Got back to the garage and you know what happens? It starts. We haven't completed a Superpole yet which is so strange. We need to get the Albatross off our garage or something!"

As Bostrom took the long walk back to his garage he admitted, "It was heart breaking because I think we could have made the front two rows and I like to start up front, I haven't started there all year and I'm not one to race in the back, I'm a little more cautious than most riders. We'll just try for a big race day go one hundred percent every lap."

As a mark of respect for the victims of the London bomb the Renegade Koji team have decided to have special commemorative leathers made for Bostrom to wear. They are also running new fairings with a very American feel to them, the bike is striped blue and white with stars along the side. "We're running them for the London Bomb Victims because things that aren't supposed to happen in the world sometimes happen," explained Bostrom. "We just wanted to show our appreciation to the families that they haven't been forgotten, it could have happened to anyone. As you saw it has happened in America too. MG (Mark Griffiths team manager) has also painted the bike quite special, I haven't even seen it."
