The BBC reports that, as expected, 2004 World Superbike champion James Toseland has signed to ride for the Winston Ten Kate Honda team in 2006.

The BBC reports that, as expected, 2004 World Superbike champion James Toseland has signed to ride for the Winston Ten Kate Honda team in 2006.

Toseland was dropped by Ducati at the end of a disappointing season, in which he claimed just one win on his way to fourth in the standings, but will now lead Honda's WSBK attack with a team that took Chris Vermeulen to second in this year's championship, behind only Alstare Suzuki's Troy Corser.

Toseland's Ten Kate deal is yet another indication that Vermeulen has signed to ride in MotoGP next season, since the 25-year-old Briton is expected to ride alongside 2005 Ten Kate rider Karl Muggeridge.

Vermeulen and Ten Kate won six races together in WSBK this season.
