Chris Walker was lucky to walk away from a big off at the high speed Parabolica corner at Monza, when he crashed out in free practice two - ahead of Superpole - for the fourth round of the Corona Extra Superbike World Championship.

It is believed that another rider tried to move out of Walker's way as he heard 'the Stalker' approaching, but unfortunately went in the wrong direction. This led to Walker and his PSG-1 Kawasaki cart-wheeling into the gravel.

Walker banged his head and hurt his arm but none of the injuries were serious enough to prevent him taking part in Superpole, where he managed to put his number two machine in fifth place, second row of the grid.

The Briton then finished race one in eleventh after problems with his chain jumping off the sprocket leading to a lack of drive by half race distance. In race two he achieved a top ten placing, coming home in ninth, however he did feel he could have done better if he had made a different rear tyre choice.
