DFX Treme Honda's Michel Fabrizio managed to take his first ever World Superbike podium at Brno during the seventh round of the Corona Extra Superbike World Championship. Not content with one podium he then followed that up with another slightly more controversial one in race two.

The young Italian rider took a well earned third place during race one having reeled in the leaders. For the Superbike rookie this was quite an achievement he is still recovering from a broken collar bone sustained at the British GP when he was standing in for Toni Elias on the Fortuna Honda, he said “The bond is getting better; the problem is related to muscles so I need to get back to be fit again so I need to work on muscles now.”

The race two finish was rather more dramatic with Fabrizio barging his way between both Haga and Corser. He bumped Haga, and Corser had to lift his bike up, but it was a last lap move which paid off as he got second place, pushing Haga down to third and Corser off the podium completely.

Fabrizio had this to say about his last lap antics, “Yes I am very, very happy I have to thank my team who help me to put together this podium. It has been very fun day. On the last lap I was racing and I understand that the pass was maybe was a little bit rough. I tried and when I understood that I was going a little bit wide it was too late anyway. I was racing and I was probably not the only rough guy today,” he concluded.

Frankie Chili rides along side Fabrizio in the DFX Treme team and has been guiding his young protégé on his first year in Superbike. “I want to thank Frankie and Honda because they are helping me with learning; it is good to learn from such a champion. Thanks to Frankie,” he said, “I hope to stay on the podium, but we will see.”
