World Superbikes » Hodgson 'pushing' for Ducati WSBK return.

Monday, 18th September 2006

2003 World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson is pushing for a return to the world championship paddock, with Ducati, for 2007 - but is waiting to hear from the Italian marque.

Comment on this Story
Hodgson's prime target for 2007 will be the second seat at the factory Ducati Xerox team alongside Troy Bayliss. The dominant Bayliss is on the verge of clinching the 2006 title and has already re-signed for two further seasons, but his young team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi has failed to deliver and is in danger of being replaced.

Should 32-year-old Hodgson, who has also won the British Superbike championship, fail to secure the factory team ride, his next best option will be a factory bike run by a Ducati supported team.
