New World Superbike team, Alto Evolution Honda, made their first appearance outside Europe when they took part in the Qatar test.
Australian team-mates,
Karl Muggeridge and Joshua Brookes reacquainted themselves with the Losail circuit in Qatar, in preparation for the first of the thirteen rounds of the World Championship, which will take place on Saturday 24th of February.
The team tested last month in Racalmuto, Sicily, where they made improvements in the suspension. Both riders are feeling confident and glad to be back on track for further development work.
This it the first test that Muggeridge and Brookes can be compared against the official Teams such as Yamaha and Suzuki, however the factory teams have already completed nine days of winter testing, and three of those days were on the Qatar circuit.
"This test is very interesting for me because we are testing on a fast circuit and this gives a more complete test from a technical point of view. I have ridden a Supersport bike at Losail, and they have much less power and are easier to drive. So I need to start from the beginning, but the Honda performs well and I know I can come down with my lap time," said Brookes.
"It feels like a long time since I've been on a track like this one,” said Muggeridge, “For me it is running in and trying to find the right settings. The engine of our CBR-RR is already there."
