The PSG-1 Kawasaki team are aiming for great things at the second round of the Corona Extra Superbike World Championship at Phillip Island in Australia this coming weekend.

Qatar saw a flu ridden Fonsi Nieto taken down by his team-mate Regis Laconi in race one, but both riders bounced back to finish in fifth and eleventh places respectively in race two.

During pre season testing at Phillip Island the riders were satisfied with their test times, both registered good times from the first day of the test and then bettered them by almost a second on the second day, with Nieto posting a time of 1min 32.7secs and Laconi achieving 1min 32.6secs.

With the results obtained at the test, chief mechanic Massimo Tognacci and the riders have decided to maintain the same set up they used during the tests, even the Pirelli tyres will be the same.

They are now putting Losail behind them and looking to the intricate Australian circuit to yield some improved results.
