Troy Corser was fortunate to escape injury when he fell during Friday practice at Donington Park, after running off-track through the fearsome Craner Curves.

The former double world champion had saved an initial slide, but couldn't prevent his Yamaha Italia R1 spearing onto the wet grass.

"I was lucky I crashed the way I did and happy to escape without any injury," Corser commented afterwards. "It happened when the back came round and the bike tried to highside me, I saved that part, but then I was on the wet grass and there was no way back! I went over the bars and head-butted the ground. Fortunately the earth was soft there, so I got away with it OK."

Corser, who also fell in Saturday's Superpole session, went on to finish second and third in Sunday's races.
