Silverstone was the first time I'd ridden the Yamaha in fully wet conditions and it felt great. We had one wet practice session at Valencia earlier this year, but it wasn't raining then - it was just damp. We had a good test at Misano just before Silverstone and I think the things we found at that test helped us in both the dry and the wet. It was good to get back on the podium and I'm looking forward to the next few races - wet or dry.

To be honest it was probably the right decision, by the race organisers, to cancel race two at Silverstone. In the past the riders' have had to make that decision - which we sort of did after the sighting lap: We stopped and between ourselves, the top four or five on the grid, felt there was too much standing water to start the race at that time, so the delay was a good call by the organisers.

I was a little surprised they didn't restart the second race schedule, just to let us go out and have a bit of look, but I think they had the pace cars and sweepers going around during the whole 30 minute delay. They could see the water wasn't going anywhere, and it wasn't getting any better, and the wind started picking up as well. I think it was the right decision but it was a bit of a shame because of the points we could have got - and prize money! It's been one of the few weekend's where I've scored some money!

It might be a factor in the championship at the end of the year, we don't know, and I think there were some riders that definitely wanted to go out for that reason. But at the end of the day it's a safety thing for everyone, not just for one guy that doesn't care if he hurts himself.
