In the premier class, Marty Nutt who usually contests Bennetts British Superbike Cup will field his T&G/Nutttravel.com Yamaha. This is his first time as a wild card in World Superbike and he has admitted that it is a dream come true.
Tommy Hill steps up to the mark by filling in for the still injured Kevin Curtain in the SSP Yamaha team. This is his opportunity to showcase his talent at a high level. He took pole position at
Silverstone World Superbike last year when he made his World debut.
So far this season in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, Hill hasn't been on the podium and is frustrated with the results that have not been what he or his Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha team had hoped for. If he impresses in the highly competitive World Supersport class he could turn a few heads and land a ride at the next level.
Also joining him in Supersport is Graeme Gowland who is replacing Nikola Milovanovic in the Benjan Motoren Honda team. Gowland is a former Virgin Media Cup contender, finishing the championship in fourth place in 2006.
In the Superstock class Victor Cox and Jon Boy Lee are flying the flag. Cox has recently recovered from a broken wrist which he sustained at the fourth round of the Metzeler National Superstock Championship at
Oulton Park. He will be riding the STP Racing MV Agusta under the watchful eye of new team manager and former World Endurance Champion, Warwick Nowland.
Lee is riding his GR Motorsport Yamaha and was able to secure a grid position due to his team's previous success in the Superstock class. Back in 1999 they lifted the title with the help of Karl Harris.
The final British rider to be added to the jam packed grids is Alex Gault riding for Mist Suzuki. Gault picked up the CB500 Cup in 2006 and had hoped to run in the GSX-R European Cup this year but unfortunately was too young. He has taken this year out and is concentrating on finding a ride for 2008.
