World Superbikes » WSS: Foret joins Yamaha.

Tuesday, 4th September 2007

The Yamaha World Supersport Team has revealed that 2002 world champion Fabien Foret will ride alongside Broc Parkes next season.

34-year-old Foret, a ten times WSS race winner, will thus take the seat of 2006 title runner-up Kevin Curtain, whose international career could now be over after missing most of this season through injury.

After an ill-fated move to WSBK, Foret returned to the 600cc class and currently holds second in the 2007 championship - behind title winner Kenan Sofuoglu - for Gil Kawasaki.

Meanwhile, Parkes will be starting his sixth WSS season - and fourth with Yamaha - in 2008. A broken collarbone at Donington Park in April ended his 2007 title hopes but the Australian returned to the top with victory at Brands Hatch last month and still has a mathematical chance to finish second in the points.
