Despite the fall, Xaus got back on his Sterilgarda GMB Ducati and finished the race in twelfth position.
The team reverted to their usual set-up for race two but unfortunately, the suspension changes landed him with a rear chatter problem and the best he could manage was a sixth place.
“In race one we used a soft front tyre because the usual one didn't work well. But it was not the best choice for my riding style because I push the front too much. I can be fast for some lap but then it went and caused me to fall. Anyhow I brought home some points,” he shrugged.
He was set to do battle with the front runners but the chatter got the better of him, “For second race we go back to the usual set-up and I could fight against Corser and Toseland if bad chatter hadn't disturbed my performance. However the sixth place is an excellent result and it shows that we have done a great job. We have a great potential and we will prove it during the two last rounds of the season. For sure you'll see it at Vallelunga, where we are going with great ambitions,” he concluded.
