“I think it's going to be January before we get out on the bikes,” the 22-year-old added. “We don't need to test what we've already got until we've got something better and have progressed the bike more, but we're hoping to get two or three tests in before Qatar.

“Obviously Tommy, Chris and Jonny are all pals of mine and really fast guys, and I'm sure you'll see more than one Brit on the podium next year for definite. I'm really excited and can't wait to get going!”
