But is it already too late for a title challenge? Haga, who fell in race one at Valencia, is only sixth in the championship and already 81 points - over three race wins - behind title leader
Troy Bayliss as the series heads for round four of 14.
Nevertheless, the Yamaha Italia star says his approach to racing hasn't changed - and is confident that set-up progress at Valencia will translate over to Assen.
"At Valencia we changed our machine settings on Saturday night and I got a lot better feel for the bike. Even though I fell in race one we got our first win of the 2008 season right after, and that has given me real confidence to take to Assen," said Haga, the 2007 WSBK runner-up.
"We always try to win the races and Assen will be no exception," insisted the popular Japanese. "Last year we were second in race one and then retired from race two so we would like to get two strong results this year. Anyway, I like Assen and I will try my best to win the races."
Team-mate
Troy Corser may still be waiting for his first R1 win, but three podiums from the six starts have put the double world champion third in the points, 56 behind Bayliss but just eight points from second placed
Fonsi Nieto.
"It was a pity that we lost so much testing time at Monza because of the rain but Assen is a different kind of track from most anyway," said Corser of a recent test. "The circuit is not the same as it was in the past but I feel we can go there with confidence. We are learning more all the time because it's our second year with the bike."
To get Corser up to speed as soon as possible, crew chief Dave Marton intends to offer the Australian one bike with '08 settings and the other in Assen '07 spec.
