The ever popular Yamaha rider suffered the spill in the early stages of today's qualifying session, meaning he had to use the second of his Santander Yamaha machines.
Despite this though, the Japanese rider was able to get a good enough feeling for that bike to go second quickest in the same session, three tenths of a second behind
Troy Bayliss.
"I didn't have any problems ater the crash," he revealed. "I just folded the front on the first right hand turn after the back straight.
"This forced me onto the second bike and it felt a bit different, but we can make it even closer tomorrow. We need to get the gearing sorted out aswell, between third and fourth gear.
Troy Corser meanwhile was an uncharacteristic 15th after first qualifying. The 2005 WSBK champion has spent the day working on race setup and trying many variations of settings to ensure a consistent race pace.
"I know I can do the lap times in qualifying," admitted Corser. "We are trying to get the bike to work on long runs with the tyres. That has meant working on suspension, offsets and many other things.
"The track is not offering up much grip either, if I get a slide the bike breaks away real quick."
Corser very nearly came a cropper in the latter stages of the session too. A rider highsided just in front of the Australian and was lucky not to be run over by the Yamaha man.
