The Australian seems hell bent on winning every race if he can this year and Assen was no different. He got a rocket start in both races and after an initial wait in race one was able to pull away to win.
Race two was a lot more tough and the points leader really had to work for his 25 points against
Noriyuki Haga to win this race.
It came down to a sprint for the line and the Ducati just held on to make it a superb double for Bayliss.
The result means that Troy now leads the championship by 70 points after just four rounds, A result not necessarily borne out of his dominance, but of his rivals mistakes.
Haga threw away a race today and Max Biaggi's injuries and crashes have already counted him out for a title push.
Bayliss simply looks more relaxed and complete than he has ever done and is able to control races while still looking after the bike.
"It's been perfect for me today, obviously," said the veteran Aussie. "Its kind of nice that the first year I came here in 2000 I had a great race with Nori, and here now for the last time again it's me and him close again."
Bayliss is known to love racing against Haga, and the goodwill and mutual appreciation they share for each other was much in evidence after the race.
"I think I'm riding for the best team in the paddock right now and we are in a very strong position for the rest of the year"
By contrast and proving the many doubters wrong that getting on a factory Ducati is a ticket to victory lane was
Michel Fabrizio.
The Roman had a torrid day at Assen, tangling with Jakub Smrz in race one and being unable to complete the distance in race two.
"I made a good start in race one," said the Italian. "But in the next section Smrz made contact with me mand I lost several places. My arm was pretty painful though and I went off later.
It appears that Fabrizio is suffering from an arm problem and finding it difficult to muscle the big vee-twin machine around.
Fabrizio went to the medical centre for treatment inbetween races but it was no good. He was unable to finish the second race.
