A heavy fall in qualifying could see Noriyuki Haga forced to pull out of latest WSBK round...

Noriyuki Haga's championship aspirations could be about to take a major hit this weekend after injuring his collarbone in a fall during second qualifying at Miller Motorsports Park.

The Japanese rider is believed to have lost the front end of his Yamaha at Black Rock Hairpin on his fourth lap of the session, throwing him down the track.

Taken to the medical centre, initial reports suggested that Haga, who is third in the standings, had broken a collarbone and would be out for the remainder of the weekend.

However, Haga has since stated he still wants to race, despite the injury. Although he is unlikely to take part in the Superpole he marginally qualified for, thus leaving him 16th on the grid, he has set a target to carry on competing and limit the damage to his championship hopes.

Stay tuned for more updates...
