Biaggi hits out at Haga.

Biaggi, USA WSBK Race 2 2008

World Superbikes » Biaggi hits out at Haga.

Tuesday, 3rd June 2008

Max Biaggi claims Noriyuki Haga ruined his hopes of a good result in the USA, injury or no injury.

Max Biaggi and his Sterilgarda Go Eleven have hit out at Noriyuki Haga's dangerous riding after he was branded as the reason for the Italian slipping down the order in the opening race at Miller Motorsports Park.

While Haga has been roundly praised for his performance whilst hobbled with a broken collarbone, Biaggi was rather less kind about him when the pair made contact at the start of the first race and caused him to plummet down the order.

Although he fought back to an eventual ninth place and would later go on to finish fourth in the second event, Biaggi remained frustrated with Haga.

"In race one, as ever, Haga did a hazardous movement, and he touched my bike with his front wheel so I almost fell down. I went back on track and did a series of fast laps which brought me to the 9th place. In race two I changed the set-up a little bit and I felt better on the bike.

"Unfortunately we paid for the lack of acceleration, nevertheless in race two we were able to capitalise the situation and get a good result. I would like to congratulate my team for the excellent job they've done."

Team boss Marco Borciani was similarly scathing of the Yamaha rider, also labelling him as 'hazardous'.

"I'm sorry about the race. Once again Haga influenced the race of one of our riders, once again with a hazardous action. Anyhow, Max was great to get the 9th place in the first race without being demoralised. In race two I hoped for the podium, but I want to congratulate Biaggi for the result, He did his best. This result must bring us a good mood."
