Roberto Rolfo is hoping he can fight for a podium in the latest round of the World Superbike Championship at the Nurburgring, despite discovering a problem with his shoulder since the previous event in the USA.
Rolfo's season has been hobbled with injury woes since his accident at Assen, but while he was hoping to be over the worst of his problems heading to Germany, he has since discovered to have fractured his shoulder too.
Nonetheless, the Spaniard was in buoyant mood ahead of the latest round, injury or no injury, adding that he hopes to be qualifying for Superpole and battling for the podium on his Hannspree Honda Althea.
“Only a few days ago I discovered another fracture to my glenoid bone that was not revealed by the previous medical report. Luckily I don't need an operation and I'm following a Clinica Mobile treatment in order to be able to race in Germany and take full advantage of the power of my Honda.
“I have never been to the Nurburgring before and I'm eager to ride and get to know this new circuit. I hope to feel better compared to the race in the USA, especially to be able to ride without pain.
“Once again I'm working with the Clinica Mobile doctors and I trust in their great ability together with my strong determination to race. I want to enter the Superpole and to fight for the podium.
