Yukio Kagayama has been forced to miss the latest round of the World Superbike Championship after hurting himself in a fall during final qualifying yesterday.

Although he made it through to Superpole, the Japanese rider crashed in the latter stages of qualifying and hit his head hard meaning he was unable to go for pole position.

Taken to the Clinica Mobile after the incident, Kagayama was admitted to hospital for precautionary checks and was kept in overnight. He is believed to have suffered some concussion and a hand injury.
