Yukio Kagayama is in race to get fit for the next World Superbike round at Misano after injuring his hand in a crash at the Nurburgring this weekend.

Kagayama fell heavily from his Suzuki during final qualifying and was quickly ruled out of the remainder of the weekend when he was deemed to have suffered concussion and taken to hospital.

Kept in overnight, X-Rays have since shown that he has also broken a fourth metacarpal bone in his left hand, an injury that could see him ruled out of the following round.

However, while doctors claim it is an injury that can take up to a month to recover from, Kagayama will still try and compete in the San Marino round in two weeks time.
