Ducati will look ahead to 2009 this week by putting next year's specification bike through its paces in a private test at Mugello.

A test to continue developing this year's 1098, a 2009-spec model will also get an outing around the Italian circuit this week in the hands of Xerox Ducati riders Troy Bayliss and Michel Fabrizio.

Xerox aren't the only team to be testing this week with the Sterilgarda Ducati team heading to the Czech Republic for a test at the Brno Autodromo.

Both Ruben Xaus and Max Biaggi will be present as they seek to improve on what has been difficult first half of the season.
