Corser, Misano WSBK 2008

Saturday, 28th June 2008

It was his final lap of the session, but it was enough to secure provisional pole for Troy Corser ahead of Superpole at Misano.

Just outside the top ten, but still earning the chance of a pole position shot in Superpole, Lorenzo Lanzi led some lesser fancied names in 11th, while Makoto Tamada and Ayrton Badovini kept up Kawasaki's form in 12th and 15th. Yukio Kagayama showed good recovery from his hand injury to go 13th best, although Noriyuki Haga looked all at sea as he dropped from fifth to 14th place between the sessions. The Nurburgring double winner was one of only a couple of riders who wouldn't improve on their best lap.

Beyond the Ten Kate duo of Kiyonari and Sofuoglu, Roberto Rolfo and Gregorio Lavilla were also high-profile names to miss out on the cut.
