Billy McConnell replaces Chris Walker at Gil Motorsport Kawasaki for Brands Hatch.

Billy McConnell has become the latest Bennetts British Superbike competitor to swell the numbers of the World Championship round at Brands Hatch after being called up to race in the Superspot event.

The Australian rider, who competes for MSS Discovery Kawasaki, will swap his Superbike machine for a Supersport one as he steps in to replace WSBK-bound Chris Walker at Gil Motorsport Kawasaki.

Joining BSB rival Karl Harris in securing a wild-card round for the Brands Hatch event, McConnell comes to the team with good pedigree in the Supersport arena having finished fourth in the British Championship last season.

He currently lies 11th in the BSB standings and is the best of the Kawasaki fraternity.
