Simon Andrews has been forced to pull out of his World Superbike wild-card ride after picking up an injury in testing during the week.

Andrews was due to make his WSBK bow this weekend on the Lloyds Jentin Yamaha, but a fall in testing at Mallory Park earlier this week has resulted in torn cruciate ligaments in his left knee.

Although he attempted to ride in free practice, Andrews managed just eight laps before discovering that he couldn't get his knee down or his foot back on the foot rest when changing gear.

Undergoing further medical tests now, Andrews is now going to concentrate on getting fit again for the next round of the British Superbike Championship at Knockhill.
