James Ellison will be fully fit for his World Superbike wild-card ride at
Donington Park next weekend after recovering well from the wrist injury that forced him out of the latest Bennetts British Superbike round at Cadwell Park.
Ellison was expecting to make a decision regarding the injury, picked up during Honda Enduro training, this weekend but has since been back into training and has pronounced himself 100 per cent' for the remainder of the season.
Adding that it was unfortunate he was forced to miss Cadwell Park when the inflammation on his wrist happened to be at its worst, Ellison is pleased with how things are progressing now.
I went back to the gym, whilst keeping the wrist in a splint, on Tuesday and yesterday and again today, he told
Crash.net. It feels fine. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it now, but it was unfortunate that at the weekend because the inflammation was at its peak.
If I had left it for one more day it might have gone down. I should have missed the Saturday and tried to go out on the Sunday instead.
Ellison has been one of this season's sensations aboard the Hydrex Bike Animal Honda and is now looking transfer some of that form onto the World Superbike stage alongside BSB rivals HM Plant Honda and Rizla Suzuki.
I didn't really want to quit [at Cadwell], he added. It took a lot of will power to say no and to not ride, but it is definitely for the better because I am 100 per cent for Donington and the rest of the season!
