Although denied a race two victory when he was overtaken at the very final turn by
Noriyuki Haga, Max Biaggi still claimed a double podium finish in the 2007
Donington Park round and has high hopes for this weekend's event.
The Roman, who has put his Sterilgarda Ducati on the podium at the past three rounds, is looking forward to riding his 1098 around the challenging British circuit, where he took a
MotoGP victory in 2003, after
Valentino Rossi was penalised for ignoring yellow flags.
"I really like Donington Park and I enjoy riding on it especially the first part where there is a double corner to be faced with a lot of self-confidence and a stable motorbike," said Biaggi.
"Well, I really like the track although the rain is always around the corner. Last year I finished both races on the podium: I was second and third, hence this weekend I expect to make a good performance too," added the #3.
Team-mate
Ruben Xaus was forced to sit out the previous Brand Hatch round due to a fever and is itching to get back into action this weekend.
"I'm back with enthusiasm," said the future
BMW rider. "I would like to give my team a good result after the stop at
Brands Hatch. Last year I came close to the podium, getting fourth in both races."
