“I have spoken with the best teams here and I am very interested in coming here because I feel I can get on a competitive bike here and be in contention for the World Championship.
“In
MotoGP 250, until the four-strokes come along in 2011, the class is in a bit of a mess. Of course I would like to be on a competitive 250 bike because I feel I am a 250 rider, rather than Supersport rider, but if I can't get a competitive 250, then I will have to go the Supersport way.”
Eugene also revealed that he would probably choose Supersport over Superbikes for the moment as that is where the majority of his experience is.

Joshua Brookes claimed the fastest time in warm-up for the Supersports, although most eyes were on wild-card rider Rob Frost, who topped the session for much of the time – before falling off.
Slipping and sliding up to the head of the timesheets, Frost looked on the edge, right up until the point he binned it at Coppice. Still, second fastest is a bold sign to his rivals.
Frost was in good company though as several riders tumbled off, including Gunther, Clementi Fujiwara and Salom.
Andrew Pitt was third fastest, ahead of Johnny Rea and pole sitter Matthieu Lagrive.

With a retirement spent relaxing on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia looming,
Troy Bayliss at least has one less thing to worry about – his family runabout
Of course, Troy will have his pick of the bikes in the garage, but try fitting the weekly shopping and the family on a Ducati... Troy need not worry anymore though as he will have the keys to a brand-new Alfa Romeo after securing the ‘Superpole Championship'.
Whether a man who can probably afford something a bit grander really needs an Alfa Romeo remains to be seen, but an extra set of wheels never hurts...
09.40 Sunday AM
Kiyonari has topped morning warm-up, just ahead of his sparring partner Bayliss.
