Kiyo is at it again!

Chucking his Ten Kate Honda around like he isn't riding on something akin to an ice rink and sliding almost sideways into the corners, he is nothing if not spectacular. It seems to be a quick method though as he is second fastest after 25mins.

The leader, however, is Tom Sykes!

There is disappointment though for Cal Crutchlow, who is third quickest currently, as he low-sides off at the hairpin. Luckily, he is near the pit lane so we may see him out on track again before the end of the session.

15.45 Saturday PM

The weather gets worse but the riding gets better – Troy Bayliss leaves it until his final lap to top free practice before Superpole, which has been confirmed as wet.

That means 50 minutes and a maximum of 12 laps per rider. With rain falling intermittently, this has all the makings of a very interesting session...

15.15 Saturday PM

Well, we managed about 30mins of ‘good' weather before rain has stopped play yet again, this time mid-way through final free practice.

Coating a circuit that had spent the last three hours gradually drying, it looks increasingly likely that Superpole will be scrapped in favour of a ‘free' (limited laps pending) session at 16.00GMT, just as there was at Brands Hatch.

In the meantime, Troy Corser tops the timesheets for the first time this weekend, ahead of Jakub Smrz and Carlos Checa.

14.30 Saturday PM

Matthieu Lagrive has taken his second consecutive World Supersport pole position of the season by a mammoth seven tenths of a second after making the most of the improving conditions in the latter stages.
