Ryuichi Kiyonari topped warm-up ahead of this afternoon's World Superbike races at
Donington Park as wet weather continued to make its presence felt around the Leicestershire area.
Although the rain has stopped, chilly weather is preventing the circuit from establishing a dry line and several riders were continuing to get out of shape on the slippery surface.
Nonetheless, Kiyonari remained upright to edge pole sitter
Troy Bayliss to the fastest time, the Aussie rider staying close to his rival to ensure the fight for victory later today will be very close.
Leon Haslam bounced back from a disappointing qualifying session to go third best, marginally ahead of
Ruben Xaus, who continued his quiet but effective weekend in fourth.
Sterilgarda Ducati team-mate Max Biaggi followed in fifth, ahead of
Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Tom Sykes.
Elsewhere,
Troy Corser suffered his fifth crash of the weekend, this time coming under Starkey's Bridge, while Max Neukirchner was also down following a low-speed off at Goddards.
