“If I had stayed on line, probably we'd both have gone down. Instead I was just able to avoid him, though I did have to take to the astroturf at the side of the track!

“I want to say a big thank you to all my mechanics for the great work they did this weekend and I also want to congratulate Bayliss on taking the title. He has worked really hard all year and deserved it.”
