Following on from his admission yesterday that he has to decide between three possible MotoGP deals, Colin Edwards has announced that his chance of a Yamaha YZR-M1 ride is now 'dead'.

This is what happened with the Yamaha deal, in the Texan own words, from a message left on his official website ceracing.com:

"I spent 30 minutes on the phone with (Wayne) Rainey last night talking about this Yamaha option," he began." As Wayne himself said: 'My opinion is totally Yamaha biased'. It was good to chat since we haven't for over a year but I thought some wheels were turning. They were turning but upper management made the decision and I was not part of the equation.

"So there you have it, M1 is dead."

Edwards' MotoGP options are now confined to Aprilia or Honda (see separate story).
