Elsewhere, despite losing ground to Chevrolet in the development race, Ford Hotfiel Sport showed improved reliability in France and drivers Thomas Jäger and Thomas Klenke will be chasing down a finish in the top 20 as they continue the ongoing search for more speed from their Focus.
Amongst the works outfits, a number of privateer entries will once again be out to upset the regular order with German Marc Hennerici seeking to extend his early lead in the Independants trophy. He will face stiff opposition from his rivals though; not least fellow
BMW pilots Carl Rosenblad and Stefano d’Aste, as well as Salvatore Tavano in his Alfa Romeo and SEAT’s Tom Coronel who will be keen to make up for his exclusion from a class win in the second race at Magny-Cours. Elsewhere, just the one RS-Line Focus of Sascha Plöderl will make Sunday’s grid following the crash that has eliminated his team mate Frank Diefenbacher from competition for the coming weeks.
In total 27 cars will start this weekend’s double-header and with four British entrants intent on embarrassing the International all comers, the fans are set to play witness to two rounds of action-packed, explosive tin-top racing.
