Emmet O'Brien admits that qualifying will be key to his chances of a solid result on his street race debut as the World Touring Car Championship heads to Pau for the fourth round of the year.
While a number of his rivals have past experience of street circuits from the traditional end of season spectacular in Macau, the Irish driver will be facing the challenge of racing on the streets for the first time in the French city.
Eager to try and secure a second podium finish of the season, the GR Asia driver admitted that he would have to get up to speed as quickly as possible when on-track action kicks off, and will need to qualify well if he is have any chance of success.
"The track is an unknown for all the teams as this is the first time World Touring Cars will race there so the practice sessions will be very important for both learning the track and gathering information to allow us to find a suitable set-up for qualifying, he said. It's very tight & twisty and there is only one place where overtaking will be possible so it's going to be very important to qualify well."
