The first time the circuit has seen dry conditions all weekend, SEAT came to the fore in the final practice session before qualifying for the
FIA European Touring Car at Adria, with Michel Nykjaer going quickest.
So far, Chevrolet have largely dominated proceedings in damp conditions around the twisty Italian track, but with the circuit drying before the sixth and final session before qualifying, it gave the first proper indication as to whom will be the ones to beat this weekend.
Indeed, Danish Touring Car Champion Nykjaer was always expected to be a favourite this weekend at the wheel of the GR Asia SEAT Leon and a lap of 1min 27.703secs proves that.
It placed him a clear six tenths up on second place Emmet O'Brien, the Irishman readapting well to rear-wheel drive again after securing a deal to race the Poulson Motorsport
BMW 320si this weekend.
Day one pace setters Pontus Morth and Henrik Lundgaard in the Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark Lacettis were still proving competitive in third and fourth fastest, the duo having led the way for much of the session before Nykjaer and O'Brien put on a late squirt.
Alexander Lvov was a strong fifth fastest for the Golden Motors Honda Accord, while Tobias Johansson in the Mercedes C200 was sixth best. With Philip Giepel seventh in the Toyota, six manufacturers are represented in the top seven places.
Aleksey Basov was fastest in the Super Production class with his Honda Civic Type-R, while the S1600 class was led by Jens-Guido Weimann in his Ford Fiesta.
