Rob Huff says he is hopeful that Chevrolet will be able to launch a three-car assault on the World Touring Car Championship after confirmation that the team will retain its 2007 line-up for the new season.
Huff, Alain Menu and Nicola Larini will all contest a fourth season at the wheel of the ever-improving Lacetti this year as the RML-run outfit seeks to clinch a first title and the Briton said he felt the time had come to see three of the light blue cars fighting for championship glory.
"I'm very pleased to be part of the Chevrolet team again in 2008," he said. "This year we had our most successful season yet, so I think it's fair to say that in '08 each of us will try to go for the title.
"We know the car is excellent, we know what it takes to win races, so now all we have to do is to stick together for a solid season without too many mishaps and it could three blue cars going for the title in Macau in November."
Despite being the only one of the team's drivers not to taste victory last season, it was Larini who finished the season best placed in the championship, with a consistent campaign seeing him take fifth in the standings.
Eager to secure his maiden win, Larini also predicted a season of success for the team as it seeks to challenge
BMW and SEAT during the year ahead.
"I'm very happy to sign again with Chevrolet," the Italian said. "It's nice to stay with a team with which I have experienced three years of excellent results. These past three seasons have brought about some solid bonds within the team, as we were all there right from the beginning; from when we were merely following the others to this year, when we were leading.
"I'm sure the stability within the team will bring lots more wins for Chevrolet next year."
