Danish Touring Car team Poulsen Motorsport make their World Touring Car debut at Estoril with a BMW 320si.

Kristian Poulsen will swell the BMW ranks in the latest round of the World Touring Car Championship at Estoril as he competes in the first of three selected events this season.

A regular competitor in the Danish Touring Car Championship, Poulsen will compete in Portugal driving an Independent Trophy BMW 320si prepared by his own Poulsen Motorsport team.

His and the team's WTCC debut, Poulsen will make his first appearance at Estoril before planning to compete again at Brands Hatch and the Oschersleben. These rounds are expected to act as a prelude to a possible full-time entry to the World Championship in 2009.

Poulsen, who finished third in the European Touring Car Cup last year, currently lies 12th in the Danish Touring Car standings, but his team also run cars for reigning champion Michael Nykjaer, ex-WTCC competitor Emmet O'Brien and another former champion Jasper Sylvest. The trio currently lie fifth, 13th and 23rd in the standings respectively.
