Looking at the top speeds of this session, might shine a light on why almost everyone ran wide multiple times at turn one. All the bikes seem to be 10-20 kph faster in a straight line than last year, especially the CRT's. So it seems the riders are arriving at turn one faster than they remember from last year, hence why they kept on missing their breaking points......

Obviously tricky conditions, and no doubt Dani and Marquez will be up there come qualifying, but excellent start. This season is shaping up brilliantly!

Quite ridiculous the number riders ran wide at turn 1. Very interesting first session to say the least. Surprised by Cal's pace, expect Pedrosa to be there tomorrow. Lorenzo and Rossi both looking solid as expected.

Marquez fast but still not looking 100 percent on that bike, can't wait for qualifying times.

Fun fact : Rossi's Ducati 2012 Qualifying time - 1.56.813. Rossi on Yamaha after 1st session, a 1.56.756 on a dirty track.
