These latest comments reveal a potentially concerning imbalance in Vettel's psychology. At the very least, he is beginning to display signs of disordered thinking. Is this concerning from a psychiatric standpoint? Maybe.

It will be a matter of perspective at season's end or further. If Seb claims another title, his actions will probably be deemed as brilliance. If he starts smoking engines and taking grid penalties for burning through gearboxes, then he's a childish fool. Personally I think he needs to reel his ego in a notch but I could probably say that about all the past champions.

@SimSim - absolutely, if he worked in an office they'd label him as half mad and ship him out asap. However, this is ops normal for a WDC. You only have to look at some of the things the old ones do in their retirement, like obsessively farming bison. Read the extract in Ben Collin's book about Schuey and Nigel Mansell behaving pretty oddly at TG. Basket weavers the lot of 'em.

@ Prof-X - agreed. The **** has been well and truly kicked out of it. I'm sure we'll have a McLaren pitstop to talk about come Monday...
