Yesterday Christian Horner said things would change constantly, today Marko says Lotus are the main challenger. I think they are playing mind games, I also think they are very confident that they have things sown up and are just doing a bit of winding up

Nobody having an iota of common sense expects Kimi or anybody from that team to spell certain highly confidential technicalities out.
As things stands up to now (and I am talking car capabilities) the Lotus car is not the RB8 biggest challenger, in my opinion it is the other way round, the car at the front (capabilities wise) is the F138 and the Lotus might as well be the main challenger to the F138.
My opinion is based on the fact that most of all the teams are now using the latest (must have) called “FRIC system” both the FERRARI and Lotus systems seems to have been sorted out the best.
This latest system “called FRIC” is not new to F1, this is an adopted suspension hydraulic solution for managing roll and heave stiffness, it closely matches the 1995 Tyrrel hydrolink system.

I think that Marko is playing mind games with Alonso. He knows that Alonso considers himself to be the main contender for the title. The Ferrari looks to be the most complete package and when they get it all together they are the fastest. The other teams can't rely on DRS failures etc to continue to plague Ferrari.

Too early to tell. Probably after two races in the European campaign and we will have a better picture of the competitive landscape as teams come to grip with how the tires will respond in more moderate temperatures. Likely three way fight with Mercedes knocking on the door at times.
