Cal needs to work on his passing, he usually has a good pace but seems to get stuck behind people way too often.
Maybe having Rossi force his way past a few more times will actually help him.

even if he manages pole it will be a tough race for cal.his biggest problem is getting off the line,whether its down to the satellite electronics package,his weight ,technique or a combination of all 3 he always loses some places into the first corner,and with overtaking so difficult at this level that is always going to be a big problem.
looking forward to the race though,with it being a track people dont tend to get away on their own,especially in the first part of the race we should get some good racing.

Problem with Cal is that he's like the anti-Rossi

You get so much hope seeing him top 3 every practice session/qualifying then on race day you know he's just going to waddle home in 4th/5th with 0 overtakes the whole race

@me 'Maybe having Rossi force his way past a few more times will actually help him'

Going by the last race Rossi needs to catch Cal first before he can even think about passing Cal.

People say all this about 'he needs to work on his passing' blah blah blah. Maybe so, to some extent, who knows, but when you consider that the bikes he is trying to pass and has been stuck behind this year are all factory bikes that are clearly better than his, its difficult to judge him on his passing in an unbiased way.

jenks you are a bit of a delusional fanboy there

firstly there is no obvious gap between his bike and the factory team. until upgrades start rolling in during mid season their bikes are virtually the same

secondly you're going by 1 race comparing vale to cal, while ignoring the race before it and the entire championship before that where vale beat cal on a ducati, against a tech3 bike that had something like 7 podiums at the end of the year

@nikisin......

Is 4th/5th actually a 'problem' then?

He is a satellite rider afterall and everyone infornt of him have better bikes, so 4th/5th would mean he beat 1-2 factory bikes.

Of course he wants to get right up there, but to do that on a satellite bike is a huge task and would be one hell of an achievement.

@nikisin,

WOW! You have a wild 'opinion' there.

Cals bike is not 'virtually the same' as the factory bikes at all. Whatever gave you that idea?

Seriously do you (and a few others on here) not even pay attention?

Cal has the same bare engine as the factory bikes (at the moment), with most of the other important bits around it being totally different.

Please pay attention and youll actually learn something.

And regarding Rossi and Cal comparison, your only as good as your last race.

Of course Rossi is expected to beat Cal every race. He is supposedly the goat and is on a better bike than him. Go figure.

Oh nooooo!!!!!

Not another one who thinks that the tech 3 bike is the same or even similar to the factory bikes.

Wake up people!!!!!

nikisin, have you been speaking to Realist by any chance? LOL!

Its common knowledge that the tech 3 bikes are NOT the same or even similar to the factory M1's!!!!!!

When will it sink in?!?!?!

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

LOL!!!!

Without a doubt the Tech3 that Cal is on is very similar bike to the Factory bike otherwise he'd be further back. But before his fans give him a win he has to race it first. Come the race he'll resume 5-6th place unless the front guys go down. But that all said, he's doing well on this track as he did during testing.

ive never been cals biggest fan, dont like his personality, just my opinion, and im sure he doesnt like me, but he is doing a sterling job so far this year on the satellite yam. yes i admit i am a BIG rossi fan, always have been, so feel free to call me fanboy etc, but i have to say cal deserves a factory ride. he has proved himself and should be a championship contender. good luck this weekend cal.
