Not a fan of McLaren but I hope that they will be competitive in the second half of the season. Since 1997 this team always won at least on race(except in 2006) and took many podiums. Until now they are having their worst season I can remember. They need to finish on the podium soon because everyone need to remember that McLaren is a top team and not a midfield one.

If they were working that well surely they would not have taken half the season to try and improve the car. As it stands the car is still a well off the pace as everybody else is improving there cars and Mclaren are playng catch-up. They won't win a race and a podium is highly unlikely this season as well. Mclaren may have been a top team but they are not at the moment and trying to talk up their prospects does them no favours.

Firestorm, after the German GP in 2009 McLaren had only 4 points finishes, a 4th, a 5th a 6th and an 8th. 13 points in total, This season they have 39 points, if you divide 39 by 2.5 to take into account the change in points value this year is still better than 2009.

This car is nearly as bad as the 2009 car, but at least there was a few wins by Kolvi that year with a dog car

Hope Mclaren can make a come back as F1 needs a competitive Mclaren team. Poor old Bruce Mclaren wont be looking down with great joy in this Mclarens 50th year in F1.

@ mrfill,

So that means it must of been Lewis who won those few races for Mclaren in a dog car in 2009. Im quite surprised because i'm not one of those f1 fans that buys into this myth that Lewis can drive around a problem in a bad car like Gary Anderson, Martin Brundle and all the fanboys have suggested so i just automatically assumed Heikki was the one who took a poor car to the podium and race wins in 2009. Oh well.

Thanks for the correction.

FW14, You sound a lot like someone who's trying really hard to try and not sound like a certain cross dresser that we all know.
And if you really want to celebrate your other over hyped hero it should be FW14b.
