Motorsports » Ricciardo not worried by favouritism at RBR

Daniel Ricciardo will head into any potential Red Bull deal believing that he will get equal treatment to world champion Sebastian Vettel.

I don't believe he really thinks that, Webber has never had equal treatment and neither do other No2s, ask Massa! He's done well to get the drive ( if he has) but he should'nt be deluding himself into thinking that he will get
the same car and treatment as Vettel. Next season Vettel we be 4 times World champion and will demand and get the best of everything. Good luck to Ricciardo but it will be a hard and steep learning curve.

I don't beieve that he said that! does he think that his driving is at the same level as vettels? of course he will get the same equipment, exactly as webber was getting. but I don't believe that he could beat webber, and as webber couldn't beat vettel, I don't see him as any threat to vettel.

It will be stupid for anybody to just think that RBR will not favour SV and it will be even stupider of RBR not to favour SV.
Having said that, it will be stupid for anybody to just think that RBR will not make an effort to give both its drivers equal equipment as best they can, they will not have anything to gain by not doing that.

Teams don't just favour a driver because they like him, the favour the best driver they have because that's best for the team.
Ferrari favoured Schumacher and Alonso because they delivered far more than Barrichello and Massa. RBR favour Vettel because he's delivered far more than Webber. It's up to those second drivers to out-perform their team mates then they'd be the favoured driver.
Look at Ferrari in 2008, Kimi was the WDC but Massa out-performed him all season so the team backed Massa that year.
IF Ricciardo joined RBR and was clearly better than Vettel the team would back him, but I really don't see him being very close to Vettel but I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

They ask a question and he gives the only answer that he can be expected to give, doesn't he? I'm sure that he was able to fit during the young driver test so basically no story here as everyone eventually gets tired of the English weather.

Fremantle,

2 points.

1. Dan himself has said that his hips don't fit. - " I can't do much about it. Even if I go on a massive diet my hip bones aren't going to change."

2. The young driver test was in the RB9 not the RB10, 2 different cars.
