Ah, I thank you Alonso; I was wondering where the next diva of F1 would appear from, now that M Schumacher has exited stage left.

What a jumped up ars$-wipe of a premadonna he is... never rated him much...good driver but not much better than anyone else in the same car...

Since everyone's a pundit :-) here's my bit... The FOTA would actually benefit from a break away, and so would the fans - Bernie or rather/perhaps FOM have squeezed so much money from venues, TV companies etc. it's frightening. FOM is also unlikely to slash it's current asking prices. If the FOTA membership stays resolute and together (plus can add some other global brands) they are starting at zero with their 'demands' which I'm guessing will come in way below FOMs.

On the other hand, the FIA could make it incredibly difficult for everyone - refusing to host any FIA sanctioned event (not just F1 events) at venues or even on a country basis should that venue host a FOTA event. Plus the FIA could also take it out on the drivers, refusing them their super license and or ever driving in any FIA sanctioned series if they drive for a FOTA team or event.

How leaglly tied to their FIA accepted applications are USF1, Manor and Campos? I'd be pouring over any and all contracts to see where an exit plan could be found!

Finger crossed that this is not just a testing flash in the pan a la Toyota the last couple of pre-seasons. It would be great to have the 'expected to win teams' scratching their heads come race end!!

If they go for a single engine manifactured by one supplier they better add to the regulations that the engine supplier can not enter a car for the championship - there are countless examples of where so called Chinese Walls are setup so that departments are kept apart and it never worked. So, engine supplier does just and only that, not allowed to enter a car. Then, and only then, will we scrape an ounce of fairness back into F1.

New track, slippery conditions (almost like it was 'wet') shows that some of the so called top drivers don't like anything but 'perfect' conditions. It wasn't until the track got less green that the likes of Massa started to get times close to the others like Glock & Vettel who were putting their times in on the green track. Anyone else think this goes to show that for some of these 'top' drivers their talent is more down to the car than themselves...?

The simple fact with Piquet Jr is that when any driver gets close to him, he (Piquet) then starts driving by "looking in his mirrors" all the time and then makes an error within about 4 corners. It's sad to say, but he's probably a better test driver (ala Badoer, Würz, et al) than a race driver.

I have one of those countdown to the year 2000 clocks set for Mar 16th 2008 - personally, with the on and off track drama between the drivers, plus a number of open seats/contracts expiring I can't wait for Mar 16th 2008! F1, it's a love-to-hate type of thing for me, I'll complain all season, but when it ends I complain I've got to wait until next season! Let's hope there's some off season surprises to keep us going until then...
