MotoGP » Sheene and Hunt – When Playboys Ruled the World

@"Bob" (sigh) As someone from Oz (I take it, judging by all the comments you post) I thought you'd only be too familiar with Barry Sheene through his work and love of Australia. The programme had nothing to do with Jingoistic pride but celebrated two remarkable characters in a time where to quote Jackie Stewart "Racing was dangerous but sex was safe" It was their persona's people loved, not where they came from. Something you sadly cannot overlook with your petty trolling. Barry and James were LEGENDS. Nuff said.

MotoGP » Sheene and Hunt – When Playboys Ruled the World

FAN-tastic! Gotta keep this in mind for tonight. Can't imagine in this PR time Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton being allowed a "Sex, the breakfast of champions" badge on their overalls (Hunt). Or, drilling a hole in their helmet chin-piece so they can smoke a fag on the grid! (Sheene) Or, turning up at the SPOTY award ceremony in bare feet cos they were running late (being in a "lady's" flat only moments before and leaving their shoes) (Hunt) Ago and Sheene's bet on who could have sex closest to the race (Sheene claiming later his most memorable racing moment was behind the toilets at the Swedish GP 1984 with 2 brolly girls)

MotoGP » Facts and figures from first year of Moto2

The thing is in this first year Honda did not want to see it's engines hand grenade at every round so they went for the "safe" option and gave them something that would last and provide an even powerband. Next year I think we shall see a step up in terms of output and eventually the class will go open to all engine manufacturers once Honda's initial contract expires. I think it's been a success. 40 bikes, cheaper running costs for teams and close racing. 80K Euros V 1 million, no contest!
