MotoGP » Factory engine for 2015 Open Honda

mrfill So they don't buy the seamless box. This is an engine 'upgrade'. It does state "It is assumed that the Open machine will not have the cutting edge seamless shift gearbox of the Factory bikes" And I think you mean open class bike rather than satellite. The much quoted 0.3s was between the rcv213 and the rcv1000 Agreed. I must have missed the quote about no new gearbox. But, the pneumatic valved engine will still be somewhere around 700K more expensive which means a possible extra 2.8m Euros to find for next year. Better start checking down the back of the couch!

Expect teams who are already under strain to find budgets to be even more put out next year as the "Seamless shift" gearbox costs in the region of €800,000 and then add the cost of the pneumatic valves and you'll be looking at finding an extra €6m for two 2 rider setups. And I believe that the difference intimated between factory and satellite Honda was 0.3s not 0.03s if memory serves me right.

BSB » Brookes to quit BSB after 2014?

Braahp: @LLarry, For me the big problem with BSB is that it desperately needs new exciting young riders, the days of Cal, Tom S, Jonathan Rea and Leon C and H are a distant memory, The only riders that I can see coming though at the moment are Luke Hedger and Andy Reid, but they need to come through faster.
Agreed that people need to come through quicker but a distant memory? Sam & Alex Lowes for example have come through the BSB ranks to higher things.

WSBK » Sykes ‘goes big’ to earn his summer break

-14. Larry Pegram USA Foremost insurance EBR 1190RX Yeah just imagine if an experience SBK guy rode the thing... podiums? No. Points? could well be the case. Yates is just tired IMO and May hasn't really got it either. Pegram surprised me, good ride Larry! I like Eric Buell and his quirky ways of looking at the world but the EBR1190RX isn't cutting it at the moment. Yes it scored it's first points but with only 17 finishers he only had to beat 2 non-EBR bikes to do it. (Rizmayer & Ullrich) Had the Bimota's been eligible to score points then that wouldn't have happened either. The road going homologation bike needs 2 front brake discs so that the race bike can compete. Eurosport commented that the race bike ran 3 seconds faster laps in tests with the twin fronts but can't race them as they aren't homologated. Also, some more power wouldn't go amiss. PS. Check my username if you reckon I'm slagging them off. I'm not.
